The Tuborg Foundation was established in 1931 to mark the 40th Anniversary of The United Breweries (De Forenede Bryggerier). The company was formed by the merger of 12 Copenhagen breweries - one of them Tuborg - in 1891.
Since its establishment, the Tuborg Foundation has distributed more than DKK 800 million in current value to around 16,000 large and small projects across Denmark. All branches of society have benefited, including trade and industry, art, culture, sport, education and business research.
The Tuborg Foundation was merged with the Carlsberg Foundation in 1991, but continues to operate as an independent unit.
