In Latin America, the beer drinking culture is driven by a favourable climate - and a passion for football.
Carlsberg has been available here ever since Carlsberg in Copenhagen first shipped samples of beer to South America in 1871. The main market was Brazil and the product was the "Old Carlsberg" beer.
Our export log from 1911 also states that strong dark export beer was shipped to Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Guatamala, San Salvador, Costa Rica, Argentina and Bolivia.
Today Carlsberg and Tuborg are exported to:
- Bermuda
- American Virgin Islands
- St. Martin
- Honduras
- El Salvador
- Costa Rica
- Panama
- Chile
- Colombia
- Uruguay
