In Ukraine Carlsberg has more than 2.500 employees in Slavutich breweries (in Kiev and Zaporizhya) and Lvivska brewery in Lviv. Kiev brewery was started as a green field project and opened in 2004. Zaporizhya brewery was acquired in 1996 and Lvivska brewery in 1998.

The Ukrainian beer market is the second largest in the CIS, the former Soviet Union, and has still a great deal of undeveloped potential. Since 1998 the consumption of beer per capita has been increasing. In 2008 it reached 64 L. Compared to neighboring countries, this is relatively small figure and considerable further increase is still expected.

In 2007 the beer market increased by 19,4%, but in 2008 the market growth was equal to 0%. At the same time in 2008 our sales rose by +16,2% and our market share increased by 23,7%.

In the super-premium segment Carlsberg Group brand Tuborg has taken the number one position with market share of 52% within the segment. Another Carlsberg brand Baltika has become a leader of premium segment with market share of 30% within the segment. Main local brand Slavutich sales increased by +28,5% in 2008.

1996 BBH starts to work with JSC Slavutich Beer and Non-alcoholic Beverages Enterprise in Zaporizhiya and the history of BBH Group in Ukraine began.
1998 Slavutich (Zaporizhiya) launches Slavutich as its first local brand.
1999 the Contract of cooperation between BBH and JSC Lvivska Brewery (Lvov, Western Ukraine) was signed.
2000 Slavutich Beer and Non-alcoholic Beverages Enterprise got the exclusive license agreement to produce Pepsi, Mirinda and 7Up.
2001 Slavutich starts production of Tuborg.
2004 Slavutich Brewery site is built in Kiev.
2007 Holsten was introduced to the Ukranian market.
2008 Carlsberg becomes the 100% owner of the BBH Group Ukraine.
2008 Launch of the Group's first non-beer product Kvas Taras
2009 Slavutich started TM Corona import
