Gorkha Brewery was established in 1989 by the Khetan Group – a leading Nepalese business organisation.  Now a joint venture between the Khetan Group and Carlsberg, the state-of-the-art brewery is one of the most advanced production sites in South Asia in terms of equipment and technical expertise.  The company has become market leader in Nepal with more than an 80% market share.

The brewery has a complete product portfolio, including mainstream, premium, local premium and strong beers.

Tuborg was launched in Nepal in 1990 and was the first international brand in the country.  It was followed by Carlsberg in 1995 and Royal Danish Tuborg Strong in 2002.  Gorkha Brewery has produced San Miguel under licence since 2004 and recently launched its own Gorkha Beer – the Authentic Himalayan Brew.   In 2006 it introduced Jolly Shandy and Jolly Lemonade to the Nepalese market.
