Ivar Huitheldt was a Danish captain who died fighting courageously against the Swedes during the battle of Køge bay in 1710. His memorial on the Langelinie quay is decorated with the cannons and the anchor from his ship, the 'Dannebrog', which is also the name of the Danish flag. Carl Jacobsen was the main contributor to the monument.
