The Hanging Gardens are a beautiful addition to the former bottling plant which was called "New Tap". However, those working in the plant were unable to view the gardens, which were strictly reserved for the honorary residents of the Carlsberg Academy.
The building lost its significance when a more modern plant, "H1", was built in 1984. However, one bottling unit continued to operate in New Tap up until 2005.
