Since June 2006 Carlsberg has been investing in the brewing industry in Uzbekistan. After commissioning a state of the art brewery in Tashkent, the first local brand - “Sarbast” was shipped to trade outlets in 2007.

The word “Sarbast” was derived from ancient Uzbek and means “free and independent”. The brewery produces four local brands «Sarbast Original», «Sarbast Extra», «Sarbast Special», «Sarbast Strong» and five licensed international brands: «Tuborg Green», «Baltika №3, Baltika №9, Baltika №7 and kvass "Khlebny Krai" ("Granary Land").

Uzbekistan is a country with population of over 27 million people. Its growing economy leads to increasing the level of beer consumption, which now makes around 6.3 litres per capita annually. The domestic beer market has developed positively over the past few years and we believe it has the potential to grow rapidly in the years to come.
The production capacity of the brewery is 1.4 million hectolitres per annum.

All production processes are fully automatized and the quality assurance system is operated by a professional team.
