Carls Lager is the re-creation of the original beer on which the entire Carlsberg business was built. Until 1847, Copenhagen breweries only produced white beer. Then JC Jacobsen, Carlsberg’s founder and the first Danish master brewer, turned everything around with the creation of a tasty beer that was aged and brewed in the Bavarian style.

Carls Lager is a dark pilsner with an ABV of 4.3%.  That’s a little lower than the original, but its flavour is very close to that of JC Jacobsen’s beer.
