Carlsberg Light is a light pilsner beer, with the same great taste as standard Carlsberg Pilsner but with lower alcohol content.
The clean, fresh feel and fine bitter taste makes Carlsberg Light an excellent choice with boiled and fried fish dishes, shellfish and light, lean meat. Many vegetable dishes also bring out the best in Carlsberg Light. Because of its low alcohol content and dry character, the qualities of Carlsberg Light are best experienced with low-fat dishes.
A curios fact is that Carlsberg Light originally was launched two years before the regular Carlsberg Pilsner, first coming onto the market in Denmark in 1902. Since its creation, it has seen a number of name changes and was previously called “Lys Skattefri” (Light Tax-free) and “Carlsberg Let” (Carlsberg Light) before being renamed Carlsberg Light in 2003.
