Created in 2009, the highly exclusive, limitied edition beer Vintage No. 2 is sold for the price of DKK 2009 (more than 250 Euro) a bottle. That makes Vintage no. 2 one of the most expensive beers in the world, with only 600 bottles produced, also one of the most exclusive.

The design for Vintage no. 2 is created by the controversial and uncompromising Chilean born visual artist Marco Evaristti.

“With the Vintage trilogy we want to push the boundaries for what a beer can do, and to challenge the luxury wine segment in the gourmet restaurant market by utilising our innovation and brewing capabilities”, says Morten Ibsen, Brewmaster at Jacobsen, who in cooperation with four other brewmasters has developed the Vintage No. 2.

The expiration date for the Vintage No.2 is 2059. This is also the year that the CarlsbergElephant beer celebrates its 100th anniversary. At that time, the Vintage no. 2 will have increased it's sweetness and reduced its bitterness and smokiness.
