Kanterbräu, the beer of Maître Kanter, a traditional lager with just the right amount of bitterness.

The name comes from the eponymous master brewer who founded a number of brasseries in the east of France, back in the 1930's. The brasseries produced their own beer and offered a menu based on traditional Alsatian dishes.

Today the Tavernes de Maître Kanter carry on the same tradition, with over 60 restaurants in the major towns and cities in France, offering simple, hearty Alsatian dishes washed down with beer.
