O
ur CSR management is cross-functional. Our CSR Steering Committee provides overall strategic guidance while our local and functional CSR champions and a central CSR unit are responsible for the daily implementation of our CSR strategy
CSR Steering Committee
Reporting to the Group Executive Committee, our nine-strong CSR Steering Committee provides guidance for our CSR strategy. The Committee contains representatives from most functions around the business and five members also sit on the Group Executive Committee providing a strong link at the most senior level of the company. The Steering Committee oversees and approves our CSR policies, processes and performance
CSR Champions
At the heart of the implementation our CSR approach are our CSR champions. They fall into two broad categories, country CSR champions and Group CSR champions.
Country CSR champions feed into Group policy development and report to the CSR Unit on performance and progress within their operating country. Their role is to identify issues that are relevant locally and to implement the Group CSR framework in a way that suits local CSR needs and priorities. Communication and raising internal awareness of CSR is also an important part of their role.
Group CSR champions are generally linked to business functions rather than operating countries and feed back to the CSR unit on function-level CSR issues. Group champions feed in to the Group strategy and are responsible for awareness and communication within their functions.
CSR Unit
The CSR unit is central to our CSR work. It acts as a coordinating hub for all CSR activity, guiding and engaging Group companies and functions in their approach to CSR.
The Unit’s role is to develop and drive forward the Group CSR strategy and to operate as an expert resource, supporting CSR initiatives within Carlsberg Group. The CSR unit is responsible for CSR performance and maintaining dialogue with external stakeholders as well as CSR reporting and communication.
