We are strongly committed to the highest employment standards and to creating a fair, respectable and safe workplace.
Our Labour & Human Rights (LHR) policy promotes this commitment in our daily business. The policy contains our principles and standards on fundamental issues related to labour and human rights (see summary below).
Our Group HR department is responsible for implementing the LHR policy across the Group and for developing the guidelines that support our employees in integrating the policy in their daily work. An example is ensuring that our companies have mechanisms in place to ensure that we correctly handle issues such as overtime hours and payments.
All employees in majority-owned companies within the Carlsberg Group must comply with the policy, irrespective of the country in which they work. This includes workers who are engaged informally, on short-term contracts or on a part-time basis. Companies that have recently joined the Carlsberg Group may be granted exemption from the policy’s provisions while their systems are integrated with Carlsberg’s systems.
Policy overview
The policy states that the Carlsberg Group shall respect international human rights principles and international labour standards. The policy is based on the principles outlined in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Labour Organisation’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.
