With the principal aim of targeting retail outlets, over 150,000 point of sale warning signs were placed in shops to inform sales personnel that selling beer to minors is a legal offence. Public youth organizations were also targeted as part of the initiative.
In St Petersburg, the campaign was supported by the famous public community platform Mitki and an outdoor roadside poster campaign ran all over the city with the message “Sales of beer to minors is prohibited”.
The project was developed by the Russian Brewers Union in partnership with public opinion leaders, the media and public youth organizations.
