As part of its diverse program of socially responsible activities, Carlsberg Srbija has initiated a new project named Call to Action 2015 that includes a strategy to promote the active engagement of women in our modern society and to raise awareness of gender equality.

Initiated by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Call to Action 2015 is an international campaign designed to improve the economic position of women in society. It also encourages political and financial support from companies and organisations in raising awareness of gender equality.

At Carlsberg, we are actively involved in the initiative and so on December 29th 2008 at the Museum of Carlsberg Srbija in Celarevo, a seminar was held on gender equality and the economic position of women in society.

RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS THE COMMUNITY

As part of its pledge to improve the status of women, Carlsberg Srbija is a holder of a “torch” for the Danish government which in turn is a global promoter of the 3rd United Nations Millenium development goals. This responsibility towards the communities we work in engages us in proactive involvement with our employees in order to increase awareness of important subject.

THE CHALLENGE AHEAD

The seminar is an example of a series of activities which will be organized by us for our employees and the local community on the topic of gender equality. These activities will involve our human resource departments, Communications and the Danish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Call to Action 2015 is an important step towards a better understanding of the roles women play in society and of the importance of ensuring gender equality is recognized by all.

Carlsberg is working in partnership to achieve these goals through a strategy of community engagement and responsibility.
