In 2008, Carlsberg Kazakhstan initiated an education program for the full sponsorship of two students from the local orphanage that will run until 2012.
The sponsorship allows the students to attend the Technical University and study a course on Fermentation Technology, a specialist subject that will lead to their employment in Carlsberg Kazakhstan following their graduation.
The project has received the full support of the University, the Orphans’ Home and the City Executive Board and is seen as an important initiative in a community where obtaining sponsored education for underprivileged young people can be difficult.
An important next step to the program will be to involve all our employees in meetings with students to broaden their knowledge of the brewing process and the production and consumption of beer.
