The purpose of the memo is to enable bartenders to better 'read' and understand their guests’ behaviours so that they can help discern when they have had enough to drink. Starting in the end of 2010, Baltika Breweries has hosted a line of events in different Russian cities (Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Rostov-am-Don, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Chelyabinsk, Voronezh, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk) to draw public attention to the importance of responsible drinking. The events have been organized in cooperation with the Bartender's Associations to also place focus on the responsibility of the bartender in terms of assessing when a guest should be offered a non-alcoholic beverage instead of a beer.

Bartender memo as 'safety instructions'
As a part of these events, Baltika provides bartenders in pubs and café's with a branded memo that displays 'responsible drinking instructions' aimed at both bartenders and guest alike. The format of the memo resembles aircraft safety instructions, only it displays responsible beer consumption information instead of aircraft safety measures. The front of the memo provides instructions for the bartender and the back of the memo provides moderate drinking recommendations for the guest.

With this line of events and the memo for bartenders, Baltika Breweries aims to create more public awareness about how to behave responsibly and drink moderately when going out.
