Every year Feldschlösschen supplies approximately 7,000 large and small events throughout Switzerland with drinks and festival equipment (beverage dispensers, refrigerators, refrigerated vehicles, etc.). Among others, the events include occasions such as city festivals, cultural and sporting events, and music festivals. Starting in the northern hemisphere's summer of 2010, all these events will benefit from an attractive reusable cup system. Systems of this kind are already in place at individual events; Feldschlösschen is the first to now offer a nationwide reusable cup system.

Cooperation with cup&more

This innovative reusable cup system was developed by Feldschlösschen in cooperation with the Swiss company cup&more. Festival organisers can either rent or purchase reusable cups – with the Feldschlösschen or the Cardinal logo – from this experienced specialist for reusable packaging. The high-quality reusable plastic cups are made of polypropylene (PP) and are available with a volume of either 3 dl or 4 dl. Cup&more is also responsible for collecting and washing the used cups.

Eco-balance and environmental impact

Thanks to their reusability, returnable cups have a much better eco-balance than disposable cups, which cause the greatest ecological damage during the production process and their disposal. Furthermore, reusable cups reduce the volume of waste by up to 70%, thereby bringing about savings in terms of waste disposal fees and cleaning expenses. A modern ‘washing machine' for the reusable cups guarantees impeccable hygiene.

Advantages of reusable cups:

  • Natural resources are preserved
  • The volume of waste is reduced (up to 70%)
  • Less disposal costs
  • Reduction of cleaning expenses
  • Superior event due to cleanness of premises
  • Stable and shatterproof cups
  • An enjoyable drinking experience

With this innovative reusable cup system for events, Feldschlösschen is taking a large step towards sustainable festival logistics. The project team at Feldschlösschen for the reusable cup system is certain of its success. Thanks to this new system, they expect the majority of events to be equipped exclusively with reusable cups within several years. In this case, the mountain of waste could be reduced by approximately 15 million disposable cups every year, and a considerable contribution will be made towards environmental protection.
