The SHE - Safety, Health and Environment - Workshops were organised during the day from 9am to 4pm and 10pm to midnight to ensure that all employees could attend.
The workshop focused on five elements:
- Roles and responsibilities of the Committee
- Stress at work: information on the steering committee and existing surveys conducted during the two previous years (how to make the best use of these surveys, a review of the 15 agreements reached as a result of the surveys)
- Chemical products : storage, labels and pictograms used at the brewery
- Sleep: quality, length, sleep apnea, shift working
- Individual equipments and protection : presentation and explanation
All employees, including shift workers and subcontractors attended the workshops. Production was halted for two hours in order to ensure that all staff could participate.
Feedback received after the workshops was very positive. Staff appreciated the possibility to develop their knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues in the workplace, as well as which steps to take in order to address them. The decision was made to continue the program in 2011.
