The three waves programme aims to strengthen the capacity of local brewery management teams in order for them to improve results in energy- and cost efficiency as well as in performance. The programme consists of three important 'waves' and the first and second wave set off already in August 2011, whereas the third wave is planned for December 2011.

First step
The first step was to send internal Best Practice experts to train local engineers and improve results related to water, energy and electricity in selected breweries in India, China, Indochina, Malawi and Malaysia.

Second step
The next step was to invite both technical managers and key suppliers to the Utility Forum in Hyderabad, India, to share experiences and to get inspired by the newest technology of the suppliers within power generation, water- and energy management and innovative technologies in CIP and lubrication. By planning and hosting a Utility Forum the Asia Supply Chain in Carlsberg creates a natural forum for discussing and learning from new technology, real business cases, success stories and potentially enter into new and fruitful partnerships.

Third step
Last step of the three wave process is planned for December 2011, and here external experts from e.g. Danfoss-Solutions and Siemens will carry out specific audits in key Asian breweries with the goal of raising the bar in terms of resource saving and improvements by bringing the plant to a higher technological level.
