In Norway, Ringnes, part of the Carlsberg Group, has introduced a bio-diesel filling station at our Gjelleråsen plant. The station is one of only three in Norway, with the fuel produced from 100% biological raw material.
The project is a cooperation between Ringness Brewery and Statoil and delivers a pioneering and environmentally friendly alternative to the use of traditional fossil fuels. We are the first company in Norway to be directly connected to this kind of gas station
Although the main purpose is to provide greener and cleaner fuel to our trucks and transportation fleet, the station is also open to the public.
The search for alternative fuels that might replace traditional fossil fuels is a long term strategy of Carlsberg Group's with the aim of contributing towards a cleaner and healthier environment.
