Creating and maintaining a workplace where each employee can develop his or her potential is of crucial importance to us as an employer. The standards set by the Labour and Human Rights (LHR) Policy and Guidelines are the basis for achieving this environment. An example of such a standard is to require that our companies have mechanisms in place to correctly handle issues such as overtime hours and payments.
All majority-owned companies within the Carlsberg Group must comply with the policy, irrespective of the country in which they operate. Covered by the policy are workers who are engaged informally, on short-term contracts or on a part-time basis. Companies that have recently joined the Carlsberg Group are expected to work towards full compliance with the policy’s provisions while their systems are integrated with Carlsberg’s systems.
International Standards covered by the Policy
The policy states that the Carlsberg Group shall respect international human rights principles and international labour standards. The policy is based on the principles outlined in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Labour Organisation’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.
