Carlsberg-Tetley has entered into an agreement with Interbrew UK to supply Carlsberg beer as of 19 August this year. This means that Interbrew UK will be able to fulfil their contractual arrangements of supplying a leading lager brand to a number of pubs, also following the termination of Interbrew UK's licence agreement with Heineken. During the past 12 months, the sales of Carlsberg have increased by approx. 20%, and it is expected that this new agreement will strengthen the brand further.

In connection with the expansion of the distribution of Carlsberg, it has been agreed that the licence for brewing the Australian brand Castlemaine XXXX will be transferred to Interbrew UK on 4 January 2003. Castlemaine XXXX has a market share of 1.5% and Carlsberg has a market share of 14% of the lager segment. During the past 12 months, sales of Castlemaine XXXX have declined by approx. 30%. Carlsberg-Tetley will continue to supply Castlemaine XXXX to their customers after January 2003.

The economic effect of the two deals will be neutral.
