Three tractor-trailer trucks worth of heavy beats will be rolling on to the Carlsberg grounds in Valby, Copenhagen this August for the RAW festival, a celebration of the very best of house music.
The trucks will contain a unique sound system designed specifically for the playback of drum and bass music, with a 52 subwoofers and a total power output of 96kW. Known as the Valve Soundsystem, it has never been outside the UK before.
When the party starts on Saturday, August 13 at 6pm, there will be room for up to 8000 partygoers on the Carlsberg Grounds, the former production area for Carlsberg beer in Copenhagen. Almost all of Carlsberg's Danish production now takes place in Frederica in the Jutland region.
This is the eighth year of the RAW festival, which for the past two years was held in the Nordhavn docklands area. Three of the shipping containers used for those parties will be transported to the Carlsberg Grounds to be used as stages.
Among the musicians and deejays laying down beats will be international names such as Roger Sanchez, Illtronik, The Scientist, Joey Beltram, and Oriol, along with Danish names like Noir and Thomas Madvig.
