Carlsberg is closing this year's skiing season with two world class events not to miss. Verbier in Switzerland will host the 12th edition of Verbier High Five by Carlsberg, while Carlsberg Sweden is arranging the second Åre High Five by Carlsberg.

Verbier High Five by Carlsberg
Verbier High Five by Carlsberg has through the years become the place to be for both pro skiers and amateurs. Around 350 skiers will meet on 2 April 2011 in one of the most premium ski resorts in Europe and participate in the thrilling disciplines, including the Carlsberg Triathlon and the Pro-Am Parallel Slalom.

Former Verbier High Five participant, three times Olympic medallist Julia Mancuso says: 'Carlsberg does a great job of getting that ski camaraderie together and it's great fun to get to participate in disciplines you normally wouldn't do; it's a big, fun, happy party all weekend'

The 2011 event will, among others, feature both the gold and silver medallist from the 2011 Downhill World Championships in Garmish, Erik Guay (CA) and Didier Cuche (CH). A new addition to the 2011 Verbier High Five by Carlsberg will be the "Carlsberg Friends". Pro-skiers Chemmy Alcott (UK), Luc Alphand (FR) and Didier Défago (CH) have all participated in several High Five events and are ambassadors of this year's Verbier High Five by Carlsberg.

Åre High Five by Carlsberg in Sweden
It is only the second time that Carlsberg Sweden arranges the skiing competition Åre High Five by Carlsberg on the 26 of March, and it is already a big success.

This year's competition attracts several well known skiers from the national skiing team.

The Olympics medallist André Myhrer comments: - It is a fun and relaxed competition where amateurs can compete against the pros in different competitions. This years starting field is very strong. I had a lot of fun last year and will participate this year also.

The professional skiers will have to watch out for all the Swedish amateurs that have a strong aspiration to beat the Swedish pros. Last year, the amateur Per Hedberg, won the men's class.

The event takes place every year in the famous Swiss resort in April and combines competitive and light-hearted racing with great partying.

It is open to anyone over 18, offering amateurs the chance to compete against professionals in five alpine skiing and snowboarding races.
