Carlsberg A/S buys A/S Saltum-houlbjerg Bryggerier

Carlsberg A/S has bought the entire share capital of A/S Saltum-Houlbjerg Bryggerier. Saltum-Houlbjerg Bryggerier is based in Saltum, on the Danish Jutland peninsular, and has up to now been operated as a family-owned, and family-driven company. In connection with an impending generation change, the owners of Saltum-Houlbjerg Bryggerier have expressed a wish to sell the company to a buyer who can secure its continued operation and development. Saltum-Houlbjerg Bryggerier's main activity is the production and sale under contract of B-brands and discount soft drinks to the retail sector. The company sells more than 700,000 hl of soft drinks every year, which corresponds to around 13% of the total Danish soft drink market. It employs 49 workers. Saltum-Houlbjerg Bryggerier's current owner and managing director, J. Larsen, will continue as the director of the company. Carlsberg has, through its subsidiary, Neptun Bryggeriet A/S, developed a closer co-operation with Saltum-Houlbjerg Bryggerier over the past few years. Division Danmark director, Lars Kjær, is satisfied with the purchase of the company. "We are pleased to welcome Saltum-Houlbjerg Bryggerier's workers. From now on we will further strengthen and develop the company as a company within Division Danmark," he said.
