During UEFA EURO 2008™ at least 31 football fans will have the football experience of their life. And it is pretty obvious that other football fans all over the world will envy these lucky fellows.

Their luck is that they have won a Carlsberg competition with a unique first prize: After each of the 31 games during UEFA EURO 2008, a chosen fan will be the one to shake hands with the player selected as “Carlsberg Man of the Match”. During the UEFA EURO 2004, this included stars like David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, Michael Ballack and Louis Figo.

The fan will present the Carlsberg trophy to “Carlsberg Man of the Match”, who is selected in the 85th minute of the match by football fans all over the world and the UEFA Technical Committee.

Inviting a friend
31 lucky winners will be found in Carlsberg competitions in a number of countries. And each of the winners will be asked to invite a friend to join the party with the hand-over ceremony as the climax.

The party for the winners will begin hours before each match. The lucky Carlsberg winner and the friend will be guided to step on to the well-groomed turf and see the stadium from the same angle as players and referees. During the match he or she will enjoy VIP treatment with luxury seating and free dining, cold Carlsberg beer and soft drinks. And immediately after the match – at the press conference in front of journalists from all over the world – the presentation of the trophy will take place.

Presentation on websites

This will be a total experience that no one else in the whole world will be able to score.  The presentation will be filmed and shown to the rest of the world on the UEFA and Carlsberg websites. The two fans may also be lucky to take home an autograph from the ”Carlsberg Man of the Match”.

The “Carlsberg Man of the Match” feature was first tested at the UEFA EURO 2004. This time it has been developed further to make it even more attractive to both players and fans.
