Carlsberg receives international brand award

Carlsberg was Thursday January 27 awarded the Swedish Signum award for its handling of the Carlsberg brand. The award praises companies which have presented the best strategy to protect and administer its brands including good co-operation between lawyers and marketing departments. At the ceremony, the jury said: "In the beverage industry, for instance beer, branding is particularly important because the products are relatively similarÊThe clear design together with the colour lifts the Carlsberg brand above the ordinary". Marketing Manager Janne Buchardt, Portfolio & Design at Corporate Marketing said: "To me, these words are a big compliment, as this is exactly what we want to achieve. We work with stringent basic brand values, and a global visual consistency is one of our most important marketing tools". The jury also highlighted the Carlsberg logo which is easily recognisable in many languages. Swedish car manufacturer Volvo and the Danish hi-fi company B&O are among previous recipients of the Signum award.
