Tuborg Foundation celebrates its 75th anniversary

On the occasion of its 75th anniversary – Thursday the 9th of February -the Tuborg Foundation awarded 75 grants totalling approx. DKK 3.7 million. To celebrate the day, representatives of all 75 grant recipients were invited to a gathering at the Lille Vega venue in Copenhagen. The event included the presentation of the 75 grants as well as entertainment from a number of the happy recipients, not least gospel from Valby (Copenhagen) and folk dancing from Thorsager (Jutland).The full list of grant recipients can be found here in Danish The presentations were made by the Foundation's Board of Directors and the Ole Stephensen took charge of the day's festivities. Over 75 years, the Tuborg Foundation has granted more than DKK 700 million for the development and implementation of socio-beneficial initiatives and activities, especially in support of Danish trade and industry. The Foundation has awarded more than 14,000 grants to recipients in all areas of Danish society, including trade and industry, sport, art, culture, the education sector and business research. The Foundation actually made an early start on its anniversary celebrations last year when it awarded DKK 18 million to three research projects under the common heading: "What will Denmark live on - solutions for Danish trade and industry in the information society". The three research projects are being carried out at the following institutions:Center for Corporate Performance, Aarhus School of Business: "Internationalisation and globalisation – where are we headed?"   Centre for Economics and Business Research, Copenhagen Business School: "The future demand for qualified workers in Denmark"  Imagine - Creative Industries Research, Copenhagen Business School: "Art, Competence and Competitiveness in the Danish Experience Economy".   Further information Finn Terkelsen Assistant Director Tel. (+45) 3327 1211 The Tuborg Foundation was established in 1931. The aim of the Foundation is to work for socio-beneficial purposes, especially in support of Danish trade and industry. Every year the Foundation donates approx. DKK 20 million and, since it was established, it has contributed in excess of DKK 700 million to more than 14,000 small and large projects.
