Carlsberg is a proud Official Fan of the Tour de France Grand Départ Copenhagen

When the world’s best riders take to the Danish streets this month as part of the Tour de France Grand Départ Copenhagen, it is with Carlsberg as a proud Official Fan and Official Beer of Tour de France in Denmark.

Denmark and cycling are inextricably linked. In 2019, Copenhagen was once again named the world's best cycling city and now the world's largest cycling race is coming to the city when Tour de France kicks off in the Danish capital.

As a nation, Denmark has fostered a string of international cycling stars and hosted major international cycling events such as the World Road Cycling Championships and the start of the Giro d 'Italia. This year, the first stages of the Tour de France will be held in Denmark, and Carlsberg is an Official Fan of the Grand Départ when the long-awaited cycling race takes place in Denmark from 1 to 3 July 2022.

“There is a strong cycling culture in Denmark, where cycling is not only a sport, but a lifestyle for the Danish population. That’s why Tour de France and Grand Départ Copenhagen is a perfect fit and a fantastic showcase for cycling both as a race and as a means of transportation. We are extremely happy with this partnership, and at Carlsberg, we will do our part to make Denmark and Danish cycling culture stand out from its best side. We look forward to being part of where the cycling fans gather and to help make the fan experience even better,” says Christopher Bak Billing, Sponsor Director at Carlsberg.

Carlsberg Nordic is the Official Beer of the Grand Départ, and the sponsorship will also help to create awareness around Denmark as a cycling country and of course contribute to the public celebrations.

About the three stages in Denmark 2022:
The Tour de France kicks off on 1 July 2022 with a 13 km long single start around central Copenhagen. In the two following days, two more stages will be held in Denmark. On 2 July, the route goes from Roskilde to Nyborg via the Great Belt Bridge. On July 3, the route goes from Vejle to Sønderborg, after which the Tour continues in France.
