Increasing availability of alcohol-free beer

People are increasingly looking for great-tasting alcohol-free brews (AFB) as a positive choice. In 2020, we saw a 11% volume growth of our AFBs. And all of our international premium brands have an alcohol-free line extension.

Carlsberg is well positioned to respond by building on our longstanding and strong portfolio of alcohol-free and low-alcohol brews.

Our brands around the world are launching AFB variants of their popular beers to meet rising demand. In 2021, our AFB sales volume surged by a further 17%. Since 2015, our AFB sales have increased with 114% with all of our international premium beers and a third of all our brands now offering an alcohol-free option.

Our AFBs are now available in 70 markets.

When people go out, they want to enjoy a great beer with friends but sometimes they don’t want to feel the effect of alcohol, especially when they’re driving. At Carlsberg we’re working with partners to ensure that wherever consumers find our beers they can choose alcohol-free brews – even on tap.
